Perks for Artists

We know why you are doing this: the good feeling of doing something of value, helping to sustain and develop the local/regional songwriting community. Well, that and the free dinner (but wait, there's more...)

A NICE GOODIE BAG

  • DVD of the entire show
  • $50 check from WYCE (see "The W9 Thing" below)
  • Free dinner after at Mangiamo! (food provided for Artists, cash bar for all)
  • Get some good publicity: you should see bunches of ads, stories, radio promo appearing about now.
WYCE has organized promos to get ALL ARTISTS mentioned, though different announcments feature different artists
  • Your CDs featured on WYCE (DJs may discover someone they didn't know about and keep playing them!)

"THE W-9 THING"

Both WYCE and the producers of A Winter's Tune would love to hand you a "U.S. Grant" for your contribution,  unfortunately that's not the way the tax game works. To disburse funds WYCE has to have a W-9 tax form to prove that the money was given out out a legit source, not squandered on musician's partying or something...

To claim your $50 honorarium

  • Get a W-9 Tax Form (available at WYCE - address below)
  • Fill it in online at www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf and print it out
  • Drop off, or mail your W-9 to:
  • WYCE
    ATTN: Kevin Murphy
    711 Bridge St NW
    Grand Rapids, MI 49504
  • If they receive it in time to process it before the show, Kevin will hand you an envelope...
  • ...otherwise a check will be mailed to you at the address on the W-9 form

NOTE:  Some Artists have opted to not accept the honorarium to

  • opt out for tax purposes AND/OR
  • effectively donate the money back to WYCE

You may do the same but if you wish a receipt for your donation to WYCE, you'll have to take their check and write them one from your own account to get credit.
