RADIO TIPS
- Arrive at 4 pm (you will go on around about 4:20 pm)
- Show up in the studio ready to play 2 songs (NOT YOUR NEW ONE PLEASE)
(if two of you are on the same interview, each take one song)
- Feel free to play your TRADITIONAL song, perhaps suggest the programmer play one from your CD (they may opt to close the segment this way anyhow)
- DURING THE INTERVIEW talk about the AWT show, winter experiences, holidays songs you love (or don't...) hat's upcoming for you, your latest recording/show etc.
- Use the tag line if the programmer asks about "what's the show about"
"A concert of NEW and Traditional SONGS for the Winter Holiday Season"
NEW TO RADIO INTERVIEWS?
- Don't worry about talking to a huge audience, just talk to the DJ.
- PRINT OUT PRESS RELEASE and underline things like CONCERT INFO and website addresses.
- Keep answers short and upbeat (makes you sound like someone the weary folks just getting out of work would like to hear some music from)
- Short pithy replies allow the programmer to ask you about more things
- DON'T OFFER LOTS OF DETAILS (like this note) - listeners aren't going to take notes while they drive and they won't remember much - be fun and give em' your website or tell em they can find out most all they'd want to know at www.AWintersTune.com
